Melinda Hersey, Ph.D.
Dr. Melinda Hersey is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Medication Development Program. Her research focuses on using neurochemical techniques to study the dynamics of dopamine and other neurotransmitters in the brain. She also assesses the ability of novel compounds to act as potential targeted treatments for substance use disorders. She earned a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences with a focus in neuroscience from the University of South Carolina.
About This Talk
The brain is a wonderfully complex organ. Dr. Hersey will discuss the brain and how it controls the body. She will also present a brief history of neuroscience, cells of the nervous system, and sensory systems.
