Research Interests
Mu-Fa Zou received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 1996 from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC), Chinese Academy of Sciences. After working for one year at SIOC, he joined Prof. Herbert C. Brown’s lab in the Department of Chemistry at Purdue University for his postdoctoral studies on boron chemistry. He joined the NIDA-IRP in 1998 as a Visiting Fellow in the Medicinal Chemistry Section. He was promoted to Research Fellow in 2001 and Staff Scientist in 2004. His research interests include design and synthesis of small molecules as tools to study the mechanisms underlying cocaine abuse and to identify targets for development of medications toward the treatment of drug abuse and addiction.
