Caleb D. Vogt completed his dissertation under the mentorship of Prof. Jeffrey Aubé at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. While a graduate student there, he developed small molecules that block the biosynthesis and signaling of androgens (male sex hormones) as a treatment strategy for advanced stage prostate cancer. Looking to cultivate his interest in neuroscience, Caleb joined the Medicinal Chemistry Section in 2021. Since then, he has been working on various research projects related to the design and synthesis of compounds that modulate the action of dopamine in the brain. His efforts, which are guided by Dr. Amy H. Newman, seek to identify new leads in the management of substance use disorders.
