Sherry Lam, B.S.
Post Bac Research Lunch Presentation: “Finding a novel ligand for designer receptors”
Post Bac Info: Sherry Lam was born in Manhattan, New York. She graduated from Binghamton University with a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Neuroscience in 2017. As a sophomore, she was part of the Summer Research Immersion (SRI) program where she worked with Dr. Corinne Kiessling investigating how acetylcholine loss affects motor performance, treatment efficacy, and dyskinesia using a parkinsonian rat model. As a junior, she taught and guided students part of the Freshman Research Immersion (FRI) program throughout their research experiment. In summer 2016, she worked with Dr. Gabor Egervari in Dr. Yasmin Hurd’s Molecular Neuropsychopharmacology laboratory helping with a pilot study on how heroin-induced molecular disturbances on acetyl-H3 impacts cynomolgus monkey brain tissue using histone acetylation. Post Bac Research Lunch Presentation: “Defensive behaviors mediated by VTA glutamatergic neurons”
Post Bac Info: Almaris N. Figueroa González graduated from University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras Campus with a Bachelor of Science in Cellular Molecular Biology. Her undergraduate research focused on how intranasal oxytocin reduced anxiety-related behaviors in cocaine addicted rats. Alma is primarily interested in studying neurobiological pathways affected by neuropsychiatric disorders. Currently, she is a second year postbac in Dr. Marisela Morales’ lab, Neuronal Networks Section.
