About This Talk
Designer drugs are also known as new psychoactive substances (NPS). All NPS are designed to bypass drug control laws, so the drugs are legal when first appearing in recreational drug markets. There are NPS representing most major classes of psychoactive drugs, including stimulants, cannabinoids, and opioids. Dr. Baumann will discuss the molecular mechanism of action, behavioral effects, and adverse consequences of each drug class.
