Research Interests
Shelby McGriff received her B.S. in Behavioral & Cognitive Neuroscience and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Florida in May 2020. As an undergraduate she worked in a pre-clinical neuroscience lab conducting behavioral and molecular research on drug-seeking behavior and memory acquisition and extinction in rats. Shelby joined the DDRU shortly after graduating and is currently conducting research on cardiovascular effects of newly emerging fentanyl analogs, reinforcing properties of phenethylamine stimulants, and long-term effects of psychedelics. Shelby plans on starting medical school in Fall 2022 and is eager to work as a physician scientist treating illnesses of the brain and nervous system.
