Research Interests
Kim Slater, M.Ed., NCC, is a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator at the NIDA-IRP. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and a master’s degree in counseling from Loyola University Maryland. She holds the credential of as designated by the National Board for Certified Counselors, and regularly participates in ongoing professional development in the fields of addiction, counseling and psychology.
Ms. Slater started working at the NIDA-IRP in 2003 as a Clinical Recruiter for protocols in the Neuroimaging Research Branch (NRB). She became the Recruitment Services Manager for the NRB in February of 2005, and in October 2006, became a Research Associate for the NRB. In 2013, Ms. Slater became a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) for the NRB and took on the role as the primary treatment counselor for protocols involving smoking cessation. In 2021 Ms. Slater joined the Neuroimaging Core within the NRB, and presently serves as a Senior CRC. She also continues to serves as the primary treatment counselor for NRB protocols involving smoking cessation, and is a member of the Office of the Clinical Director’s SOP Committee.
