Kay Nisbett, M.S.
Kay Nisbett is a Ph.D. candidate in neuroscience at the University of Illinois, Chicago and is completing her doctoral research in the Neurobiology of Addiction Section. She is investigating the role of oxytocin, a prosocial hormone, in depression and anxiety. She is also interested in the neural correlates of empathy and social bonding. Ms. Nesbitt received a B.S. in chemistry and an A.S. in physics from the University of the Virgin Islands. She earned an M.S. in chemistry from Wayne State University.
About This Talk
Ms. Nisbett will discuss fundamental concepts in neuroscience, including how neurons (nerve cells) communicate with each other, components of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and their function, and disorders of the central nervous system. The talk can be tailored to your needs.
