Research Interests
Sophia is a Post-baccalaureate researcher at the Hope Lab. She graduated with a B.S. in physiology from the University of Washington in Seattle. During her undergraduate years she worked as a laboratory technician in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in Dr. Jeremy Clark’s Lab. The Clark lab studied the effect of adolescent alcohol exposure on adult decision-making. The Clark lab investigated these long-term effects using a technique called fast-scan cyclic voltammetry, which allowed for the observation of changes in dopamine transmission during behavioral experiments. Currently, Sophia works with Dr. Rajtarun Madangopal, a post-doctoral fellow in the Hope Lab.
