Pamela Miranda Tapia, Ph.D.

Research Interests

Pam joined the Aponte lab in Spring 2021 after receiving her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Alberta and B.Sc. in Biological Sciences at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She is interested in understanding the neural circuits that underlie survival behaviors such as feeding as well as the addictive and rewarding properties of food. To accomplish this, Pam is using a combination of behavioral studies, in vitro electrophysiology, and in vivo calcium imaging.
