Research Interests
Michael Ellenberger graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry-Biochemistry. He is currently a post-baccalaureate IRTA fellow in the Medicinal Chemistry section of the Molecular Targets and Medications Discovery Branch, working in Dr. Amy Newman’s lab. His research involves testing the affinity and selectivity of novel dopamine D2-like receptor-selective compounds via radioligand binding assays. His work seeks to elucidate the structure-activity relationships of D2-like selective agents to further develop compounds to treat cocaine and methamphetamine addiction.
