Research Interests

Maria received her PhD in 2014 from Department of veterinary biosciences, University of Helsinki, Finland. For her thesis she studied lipid mediators in orexin/hypocretin receptor signaling. After her PhD she worked as a post-doctoral researcher in two drug development projects in Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Helsinki. Maria joined Dr Harvey’s lab in NIDA in 2019 to study ER stress, focusing on how disrupting ER calcium homeostasis affects the cellular lipids and vice versa.
