Research Interests
Lyla Thomson graduated with a BA in Chemistry from Boston University in 2026, where she spent two years at the BU Center of Molecular Discovery synthesizing small molecules aimed at attenuating the physical effects of opioid withdrawal. Focused on expanding available interventions for addiction, Lyla joined the Medicinal Chemistry section of the Molecular Targets and Medications Discovery Branch as a post-baccalaureate IRTA fellow in 2026. Her work now revolves around the synthesis of D3 active compounds to address adverse symptoms of psychostimulant drug use.
