Education
B.A in Neuroscience and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology - University of Colorado Boulder
Research Interests
My primary research interests lie in the realms of understanding how stress, pain, and the neuroimmune system interact with one another on a molecular and systemic level and contribute to dysregulated states that are involved in addiction and other drug-related behaviors. As an undergraduate researcher at The University of Colorado I contributed to a project utilizing optogenetics to study a glutamatergic stress related pathway in mice, and gained an appreciation for behavioral analysis and techniques that allow for circuit specific manipulations. Here in the Neurobiology of Addiction section laboratory I am conducting research on the role of the neuroimmune system in increased pain states that may contribute to the cycles of drug seeking and addiction, as well as investigating potential preclinical pharmacological interventions.
