Research Interests
Diane Kallah joined Dr. Lorenzo Leggio’s CPN in February 2026. She received her A.A. in Biology, Chemistry, and General Sciences from El Camino Community College in 2022 and her B.S. in Neurobiological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine in 2024. During her undergraduate studies in neurobiology under Dr. Yama Akbari, she investigated ischemia-related neuropathology with rodent models, examining the effects of caloric restriction on cerebral hemodynamic and molecular mechanisms in neuronal tissue. In collaboration with her fellow lab mates, she contributed to a complementary project exploring the neuromodulatory effects of vagus nerve stimulation on transgenic Alzheimer’s disease mouse models. Continuing her research under the mentorship of Dr. Leggio, she will contribute to the translational research examining the role of neuroendocrine pathways systems in addictive disorders via translational clinical studies.
