Background
Alexandre obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry in the field of nano-bioelectronics at RWTH Aachen University/Juelich Research Center in Germany in 2012. During his first postdoctoral fellowship at Rutgers University in the laboratory of Dr. Ken Paradiso, he studied the electrophysiological properties of synaptic transmission in large presynaptic terminals in mouse brain slices. He joined the Aponte Lab as a postdoctoral fellow in 2015, because he was interested in hypothalamic neuronal circuits responsible for the regulation of glucose homeostasis and energy balance. Alexandre was in the lab from 2015 – 2018.
Current Position: Postdoctoral Fellow at George Washington University; Adviser: Dr. Abigail Polter
