About the Lab
The Drug Design and Synthesis Section’s ongoing projects include:
- Medicinal chemistry of drugs acting on central and peripheral opioid receptors .
- Rational design and chemical synthesis of novel MOR partial agonists, potent MOR antagonists without agonist activity, and imaging agents for PET scanning
- Medicinal chemistry to design treatment agents for OUD, for the synthesis of new types of analgesics, and for the study of alcohol abuse
- Chemical arm of Medication Development Program for synthesis of commercially unavailable or prohibitively expensive compounds for SUD research
