Ida Fredriksson, Ph.D. will receive the 2020 WSA Scholar Award at this year’s virtual event. She was selected in recognition of her outstanding research from a pool of women Fellows Award for Research Excellence (FARE) FY2020 winners.
Dr. Fredriksson is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Yavin Shaham at the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) where she studies the mechanisms of incubation of oxycodone craving after abstinence due to negative consequences of drug use. As a postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Fredriksson has received the NIDA Women in Science Excellence in Research Award and Fellows Award for Research Excellence. In 2019, Dr. Fredriksson was selected as a Center of Compulsive Behavior (CCB) Fellow and also received a postdoctoral grant from the Swedish Research Council.
At this year’s WSA event, Dr. Fredriksson will present a seminar titiled, “Incubation of Oxycodone Craving After Conflict-induced Voluntary Abstinence.”
