Research Interests
Kelly Abshire joined CPN in July 2019. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Biology. During her undergraduate career she completed a thesis in behavioral neuroendocrinology and partook in substantial research in the fields of genetics and molecular biology. Her professional interests lie in exploring the balance between nature and nurture and its relationship to behavior, epigenetics, neurophysiology, and disease. Kelly’s roles in CPN include providing support with recruitment, screening efforts, as well as support with human laboratory studies testing the role of the gut-liver-brain axis in alcohol-seeking behaviors.
