Kayla Hamilton

Background

Kayla graduated in May 2016 from Mount DeSales Academy in Catonsville, MD. She began her undergraduate studies in neuroscience and behavioral biology at Emory University in the fall of 2016. Kayla was part of the NIH/NIDA Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research and worked as a summer intern in the Aponte lab in the summer of 2016 and 2017. She is interested in learning more about the connections between the neuronal circuits involved in food intake and behavioral responses due to mental health conditions. Kayla plans to continue research in the neuroscience field.
