Research Interests
Rylie Conrad joined Dr. Lorenzo Leggio’s CPN lab in June 2024. She graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Psychology focusing on Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience with a minor in Pathogenesis. At UF, she studied under Dr. Lori Knackstedt and Dr. Marek Schwendt on varying rodent models of substance use including the effects of oxytocin on alcohol/oxycodone polysubstance use and the use of pharmacological agents to remediate working memory deficits caused by chronic methamphetamine use. Additionally, she worked with Dr. Sara Jo Nixon to investigate the long-term effects of COVID-19 stressors on substance use and cognition in older adults. Her research interests focus on the intersecting effects of environment and genetics on the development and maintenance of substance use disorders. In the CPN lab, Rylie will support clinical studies to identify novel therapeutics for individuals with alcohol use disorders.
