Research Interests
Lucas grew up in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and performed undergraduate in Biological Sciences, Ph.D. in Biochemistry (UFRGS), and a brief postdoc (UFCSPA). During this period Lucas studied the involvement of inflammation in rodent behavior, neuropathology, and astrocytic function. Then Lucas moved to Dublin, Ireland, and worked as a visiting researcher in a neuroimmunology lab (TCD) focused on animal models of delirium with a translational approach. After that, Lucas moved to California for a postdoc (UCR) to pursue electrophysiology skills and study noradrenergic modulation during flexible decision-making. Lucas also enjoys readings on psychology, philosophy, and the arts. During their free time, they enjoy dancing, biking, and yoga.
