Research Interests
Christi Blake is a national board-certified Physician Assistant (PA) serving the Translational Addiction Medicine Branch (TAMB), National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Intramural Research Program (IRP). She graduated from Virginia Tech with dual BS degrees in Biological Sciences and Psychology and a Master of Health Sciences from Duke University School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program and completed a one year Primary Care/Safety Net Medicine APC Residency in Asheville, NC. She is also a national board-certified Medical Laboratory Scientist and a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She brings to NIH/NIDA over a decade of clinical and administrative experiences from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), as a Medical Technologist in the clinical laboratory at the Salem VA and Durham VA and as a medical PA within the Mental Health Department at the W.G. Hefner (Salisbury) VA. As a PA and Associate Investigator, she supports the mission of TAMB and NIDA at large to conduct safe, cutting-edge clinical studies to better understand and develop new treatments for patients with alcohol and substance use disorders.
