If you are a cigarette smoker who is trying to quit, it may seem like you are facing an impossible feat. You may need support to help stay on track. Here at the National Institute on Drug Abuse in Baltimore, a division of NIH, we need you for a research and treatment study about nicotine dependence. The study offers a treatment plan customized to your individual needs and one-on-one counseling to help you quit smoking. During the study, we’ll ask you to fill out questionnaires, provide blood and urine samples and have MRI scans done of your brain. You will be paid after each visit, up to $1690 for completing the entire study. You’ll even receive an image of your brain on a T-shirt. To see if you qualify, visit researchstudies.drugabuse.gov or call 1-866-START-NOW.
